My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

Could it be true, new stuff by one of UK's most successful duos!  And it has the same magic as the 80's stuff.  I need to look up more tunes off this new album called Elysium.

'West End Girls' by Pet Shop Boys

Aahh, a classic off the band's first studio album that made it to the top of music charts in the UK & US.

The song reminds me of a surreal spring break in Hilton Head, SC during my junior year of high school. I can smell the ocean and sand and oil and . . .

'Always on My Mind' by Pet Shop Boys

Theme: quintessential 80's

To me, Pet Shop Boys are on the same wavelength as ABC but think PSB are slightly more classy. I think this song, off the band's 4th studio album, embodies that statement.

As information, PSB have sold over 100 million records worldwide and could be the most successful duo in pop music history.
