My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Enjoy.

'Dear Prudence' by Siouxsie and the Banshees

Album: Hyæna
Released: 1984
Theme: surreal 80's

I didn't know that this song was a cover version of The Beatles 'Dear Prudence' (I like Siouxsie's better). It became their biggest hit, reaching number 3 in the UK.

I like the song because is exudes a surreal feel.

'Peek-A-Boo' by Siouxsie & The Banshees

Album: Peepshow
Released: 1988
Theme: dance

I love to dance to this one. It's got a funky in-and-out beat and funky in-and-out is good.

Good band. I look forward to posting more stuff!

'Kiss Them For Me' by Siouxsie & The Banshees

Album: Superstition
Released: 1991
Theme: dreamy

I'm planning for back-to-back Siouxsie - today more melodic and kickin' it up a notch on Friday.

'Kiss Them For Me' gave the band its first top-forty Billboard Hot 100 hit in the United States, peaking at number 23.

Again, I like different sounding stuff and this tune follows suit.
