U2 is one of my long time favourite long time bands and this is one of my fav by one of my fav.  It's a magical tune that flows like a river.

Something magical about this one.  A truely great song and my favorite by the band.

I listen to and float away to another place that I can't describe.

I'm not sure there's anything more to say about this tune by James.  This is probably their most popular song but not my fav - I'll post that soon.  Enjoy the live performance below.

BTW, they're another great band from UK and have released more records than you thought.

'Getting Away With It' by Electronic

SoDA is formally introducing the all-star English band formed by New Order singer Bernard Sumner and Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. Pet Shop Boys also collaborated on this tune.

With all this talent, no wonder it sounds great.  I think it's a good one in which to flow into the weekend.  Hope you enjoy it and enjoy your weekend.

Love this cover from the NYC band.  It has a cool club feel but keeps the magic of the original in tact.  I need to download on iTunes and dance at midnight.

M post #7:  not the last post ever but a good way to end out a week for the one and only Morrissey.  And a good way to start February, yes?

I guess the song is about the plight of the disabled.  The video is weird - hard to describe is the best way to describe it . . .

'Last of the Famous International Playboys' by Morrissey

M post #6:  ohhh, one of my true favorites by Morrissey or Smiths.  The tune references both Reggie and Ronnie Kray, of the Kray twins.  Don't know much about them except that they were a notorious pair of vicious London gangsters in the 60's.  I think Morrissey idolized these guys for some reason.

Oddly enough, another British alternative band, Renegade Soundwave, also sings about Kray twins.
