My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Enjoy.

'Right Here, Right Now' by Fat Boy Slim

Album: You've Come a Long Way, Baby
Released: 1998
Theme: club

This guy rocks and this song rocks. Please listen to loud and enjoy life.

I saw Fat Boy Slim several years ago and it turned out to be more of a rave with younger kids taking ETC with pacifiers and flashing lights. I don't need all that but I hope they have raves in heaven.

And cool video.

'Sex On Wheels' by My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult

Album: Sexplosion
Released: 1991
Theme: club

I love these guys. This tune is one of the more popular by the band but there are others that are better. Oh well, maybe it's time for a My Life weekend . . .

I've seen them a couple times at The Masquerade in ATL and I swear the floor was shaken in Heaven.

'Cut Dead' by Jesus & Mary Chain

Album: Psychocandy
Released: 1985
Theme: unclassified

Psychocandy was the band's debut album and is the only album I really know but it has plenty of good tunes.

I remember going to see at 688 in Atlanta but my crappy fake ID didn't work so I sat in the car while all my friends enjoyed the show.

The album is definitely the most popular but this song wasn't. It's slow and special and I like it.

'Sense' by The Lightning Seeds

Album: Sense
Released: 1992
Theme: dreamy

Sense was their 2nd album and this is my favorite tune by the group.

Hearing it makes me feel warm for some reason and makes me smile.
