My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Enjoy.

'Everyday is Halloween' by Ministry

Album: Twelve Inch Singles (1981–1984)
Released: 1981 - 84
Theme: deep alternative

Posted 1/13/2010: Where do I start with Ministry . . . ? Led by the infamous Al Jourgensen from Cuba, they began as a new wave sounding band that later did a 180 degree turn into big time industrial (I've seen them live in Atlanta and am surprised I can still walk).Anyway, the right day to post this song would be around Halloween but I can't wait that long - maybe I'll post again . . . because I can.

And so it was written and so it shall be.
