My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Enjoy.

'Institutionalized' by Suicidal Tendencies

Album: Suicidal Tendencies

Released: 1983
Theme: punk

Probably the most famous song by the band but I like all off this album.

"But she wouldn't give it to me, just a Pepsi, just one Pepsi"

'Subliminal' by Suicidal Tendencies

Album: Suicidal Tendencies

Released: 1983
Theme: punk

Saw this band twice when I was a kid at the old Metroplex in the ATL. Craaazy show with people jumping into the crowd from the 2nd deck. First show I stood in awe, second show I got my hands dirty.

This song plays well into a slam dancing scheme because it starts out slow and speeds up then slows then faster. Fun stuff but can be brutal.
