My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

'I Will Follow' by U2

'I Will Follow' is the first song on their debut album and their first hit single in the UK. An oldie but goldie.

    The only question with "I Will Follow" is whether to choose the studio or live version (latter from Under a Blood Red Sky). I vote for the live version.

    If we're talking about 80's alternative rock here are some bands that come to mind: Pixies, Sonic Youth, Husker Du, NIN, Replacements, Pogues, Ramones, Tribe, & J&M Chain .....
