My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Enjoy.

'Screw' & 'The Blood' by The Cure

Album: The Head on the Door
Released: 1985
Theme: quintessential 80's

This album is probably my favorite by The Cure and these 2 songs are the deeper more mysterious on the album. The treat: a 2-for-1 post.

'Screw' - very funky, swingin' beat. How can you listen to and not jump around, try it and smile.

'The Blood' - a Spanish flare with an intense sound - should make you hot and bothered . . .
