My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Enjoy.

'Flagpole Sitta' by Harvey Danger

Album: Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?
Released: 1997
Theme: alternative fun

This was the debut album from the Seattle based band.

'Flagpole Sitta' was very popular on the radio back in the day, but it's the only one I know by the band. Doesn't matter though, I only need one.

This is an awesome little pop song. I remember Steve from 99X playing it 3 times in a row when it first came out, while I was sitting in Atlanta traffic. I was ready to take the Kia off-road. I'm sure you've probably seen this: http://vimeo.com/173714

Keep posting! I don't comment often, but I always read.
