My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

'The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades' by Timbuk 3

Still with the 'fun' theme - we'll see how long it will last. If you have any ideas, float them my way.

In case you haven't realized, you can click on the Album title to get a link to info on the band. Do that here and you'll learn that Timbuk3 was formed in 1984 by a husband and wife team out of Madison, Wisconsin.

The song comes across in a lighthearted manner like everything's gonna be cool. I don't know if that's how the author had intended but that doesn't matter.
