My formative years were spent in the 80's with foundational bands like New Order, Depeche Mode, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Jane's Addiction. Even though the 80's was the pioneer decade for the alternative genre, this music transcended into the 90's and to some cool tunes today which could be classified as alternative. Hopefully, this site will bring back some good memories and introduce some things you haven't heard before.

'Time To Pretend' by MGMT

MGMT, aka The Management, is a fresh sound from NYC. I like 3 or 4 songs from this album and look forward to the next.

They have been recently working on a new one called Congratulations expected to be released in Spring 2010.

    I was just listening to this album last night. I was initially attracted to MGMT by one of the other songs on the album (Kids). But I have found several of the other songs (this one, Electric Feel and The Youth) to be very good. MGMT have something good going on and I look forward to their new album.
